Essential Fogo Island — São Filipe, Chã das Caldeiras and Vineyards

Fogo Island · €180 per_person · 2 days / 1 night · Rating 4.9/5 · Confirmed on request

Two days on the volcanic island: the colonial 'sobrado' houses of São Filipe, the Chã das Caldeiras caldera, wine tasting and goat cheese with local producers.

Fogo Island is the most dramatic in Cape Verde: a 2,829m volcano that dominates the horizon and a community that insists on living inside its caldera.

The first day is dedicated to São Filipe — the colonial 'sobrado' houses, the market, and the black sand beach — before the ascent to Chã das Caldeiras in the late afternoon.

On the second day, we walk among the vineyards planted in the lava, taste Fogo wine, goat cheese, and coffee from the slopes, with time to learn about the village's community projects.
