Lamp Hope was born from a vision of sustainable change, started in 2018 as part of the ClimateLaunchpad program — the world's largest competition for green business ideas.

Our ecotourism manifesto
Lamp Hope exists so that tourism in Cape Verde benefits the people and places that make it special. We work only with local guides, family guest houses and small producers, keep groups small, respect fragile landscapes such as the Fogo volcano and the Santo Antão valleys, and put community voices at the centre of every experience.
The 85/15 impact model
Of every booking made on Lamp Hope, 85% goes directly to the local host, guide and community — paying fair wages, buying local food and funding community projects such as water access in São Cristóvão. The remaining 15% covers the platform, secure payments, marketing and support that bring travellers to these communities. Each experience page shows exactly how your booking contributes.
How booking works
Choose a date and number of guests, then pay securely by card (Stripe) or Vinti4. Instant-booking experiences are confirmed immediately; on-request ones are confirmed by the local host. 85% of every booking stays with the local community and host; 15% supports the Lamp Hope platform.
