lake Naivasha (from the Maasai language: Nai'posha, "choppy water") is a freshwater lake in Kenya. It forms part of the Great Rift Valley. The lake covers 139 km, and is surrounded by marshes of 64 km² (the total length can vary greatly depending on the rain); it is located at an altitude of 1884 meters.
The Maasai Mara is a reserve renowned for its exceptional populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs and elephant, and the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and the Maasai People.

There is a wide range of possible ways in the local national park that can be used for the walk, is the highest „tourist“ point on this mountain range.
